On October 16th, 2017 members of the Mt Vernon Police Department responded to the area of 27th and Casey for a report of an armed robbery. After robbing the victim at gunpoint, the offender fled the area.
Patrol officers and detectives began an investigation into this offense and identified the offender as 20 year-old Romondo S Bootchee.
On November 4th, 2017 Bootchee was arrested by officers from the Mt Vernon Police Department on a Jefferson County Petition to Revoke Probation warrant in connection with an original charge of burglary. The bond on this warrant was $50,000 (10% applies). At the time of his arrest, Bootchee was found in possession of controlled substances which resulted in an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. The bond for this charge was an additional $50,000 (10% applies).
On November 6th, 2017 another Jefferson County warrant was issued for Bootchee as a result of the investigation into the armed robbery. The warrant was for Armed Robbery with a Firearm with a bond amount $100,000 (10% applies). Bootchee was still in custody at the Jefferson County Justice Center from the arrest on November 4th.
Bootchee remains a suspect in other weapons violations offenses in Mt Vernon and those investigations continue with additional charges possible.
Bootchee remains in the Jefferson County Justice Center with a total bond of $200,000 (10% applies).
Bootchee is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
