The Southern Illinois Drug Task Force Friday arrested four people as part of an initiative in Franklin County aimed at impacting the distribution of illegal drugs and the diversion of prescription drugs.

Among those arrested were 30-year-old Keith E. Horton of Salem for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, 27-year-old Jenni N. Fofar of West Frankfort for possession of methamphetamine, 39-year-old Caressa M. Pyles of West Frankfort for possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and 27-year-old Joseph D. Hall of Carterville for possession of a firearm by a felon/gang member, possession of cannabis and aggravated fleeing and eluding.

The Franklin County State’s Attorney’s Office will prosecute the charges against the defendants.

Member agencies participating in the effort were the West Frankfort Police Department, the Christopher Police Department, the Zeigler Police Department, the West City Police Department and Illinois State Police.  The Benton Police Department also participated in the detail.
