Cedarhurst Center for the Arts in Mt. Vernon launched Kimball’s Habitat, a new awareness and fundraising campaign designed to preserve the longevity of Cedarhurst’s outdoor sculpture collection and ensure all visitors feel welcome and enjoy their museum experience.

The campaign goal is $250,000 and began with an announcement made at Cedarhurst’s Thursday Night Live kickoff event by Hillary Esser, Cedarhurst’s Director of Development.

The donation was presented by President and Owner of Withers Broadcasting and Dana Communications, Dana Withers.

The commitment by Withers will match every campaign donation, dollar for dollar between now and Labor Day, up to $25,000.

Kimball is arguably the most recognizable sculpture at Cedarhurst and stands directly out in front of the museum.

Campaign contributions can be made through the Cedarhurst website and through YouCaring.com an online crowd-funding website. Donations can also be made in person or mailed to Cedarhurst at PO Box 923, Mt Vernon, IL 62864.

Cedarhurst is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.
