A 25-year-old Mt. Vernon woman was sentenced Tuesday in Jefferson County court to six-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after she pleaded guilty in multiple drug-related felony cases.

Bambi Gant pleaded guilty to a 2017 charge of Class 2 felony delivery of less than 5-grams of methamphetamine. Gant was one of more than a dozen people arrested in December as part of a Mt. Vernon Police Department warrant sweep.

She was later arrested and charged in 2018 with Class 2 felony delivery of less than 5-grams of meth. A guilty plea in that case Tuesday resulted in a sentence of 12 months conditional discharge.

Previously, however, Gant was arrested on a warrant charging her with unlawful delivery of meth within 1000 feet of a park.

At the time of that arrest Gant was also wanted for failing to appear in court on a 2016 case charging her with three Class 2 felony counts of possessing less than 15 grams of meth precursor and a 2015 case charging her with the same offense.

Gant pleaded guilty Tuesday to all those charges, as well as felony aggravated battery in a public place and mob action. She was recommended for impact incarceration.
