CENTRALIA — A solar array of more than 600 panels is going to be built on the south side of Centralia as a local business looks to produce much of its own electricity.

Country Bob’s has already started construction of its 609 panel array on the east side of their plant on U.S. 51.

The company recently received a $428,000 building permit from the City of Centralia to place the solar panels along the side of its facility facing Jeff Road. The panels are expected to be in place and working by the end of the month.

It’s hoped the solar panels will produce most of the electricity used not only in the Country Bob’s office but also in its production facility.
