MT. VERNON — The Mt. Vernon Public Works Department will be performing asphalt milling on multiple streets throughout the city starting Wednesday, July 11th. About 2 inches of asphalt will be removed to prepare for a new layer of pavement to be poured in the near future.

The streets impacted will be closed to thru traffic at various intervals during the projects.

The following streets will be impacted by the milling projects:

  • Cherry St. between 12th and 17th
  • 27th St. between the railroad and Richview Rd.
  • 28th St. between Jones and Veterans Memorial Dr.
  • Harrison St. between 12th and 14th
  • 20th St. between Broadway and the railroad.
  • 15th St. between Cherry and Conger.
  • 12th St. between Broadway and the railroad.
