CENTRALIA — A 26-year-old Centralia man has been sentenced to 3-years in prison after he pleaded guilty Thursday in Marion County court to a weapons offense.

Jeremy Lippert pleaded guilty Thursday to a Class 3 felony charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm in exchange for a Class 2 felony charge of possessing a stolen firearm being dismissed.

Lippert was arrested on the charges in June after being stopped by Centralia police for driving while having a broken windshield.

A search of Lippert and the vehicle revealed a bullet in his pocket and a handgun under the front seat. He was taken to the Marion County Jail where he’s remained since his June arrest.

In addition to the three year prison sentence, Lippert will hae to serve one year mandatory supervised release at the end of that prison term.
