MOUNT VERNON — The Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team served a drug search warrant early Thursday morning at 501 S. 24th Street in Mt. Vernon that resulted in the arrests of five people.

This was a result of a MVPD Narcotics unit investigation. A search by MVPD detectives revealed quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, and drug equipment.

Authorities arrested 30-year-old Cody James for alleged Possession of Heroin, Methamphetamine, and Drug Equipment; 49-year-old Carrie R. Havansek for alleged Possession of Heroin and Methamphetamine and on an outstanding Clinton County warrant for Failure To Appear warrant for Possession of Dangerous Drugs; 38-year-old Henry F. York for alleged Possession of Heroin; 36-year-old Jessica E. Phillippe for alleged Possession of Heroin, Methamphetamine, and Drug Equipment; and 38-year-old Kevin L. Phillips for alleged Possession of Drug Equipment.
