MOUNT VERNON — One of the juvenile subjects who escaped earlier this week from the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center was captured early Friday morning at a home in the 2400 block of Wescott in Mt. Vernon.

Mt. Vernon police officers and Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies went to the residence just before 5 a.m. Friday morning in an attempt to locate subjects wanted on arrest warrants.

During a search of the residence, officers located the 17-year-old juvenile hiding inside. He reportedly resisted arrest but was taken into custody.

Two adults, 18-year-old James Miller and 18-year-old Erica Brown, were also arrested on felony charges for obstructing justice  and providing false information.

Additionally, 44-year-old Carolyn Duncan was taken into custody on a Jefferson County warrant charging her for possession of methamphetamine. Duncan was taken to the Jefferson County Jail with bail set at $30,000.

Miller and Brown were also taken to the Jefferson County Jail to await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.

The 17-year-old juvenile was transported to the Mt Vernon Police Department for processing. He reportedly refused to cooperate with officers and was charged with a second count of resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

The juvenile was ultimately transported back to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility pending court in Jefferson County. Due to their age we will not release the name of the escaped juvenile or show photographs.

He was, however, listed as #1 in the list of descriptions released by authorities following the escape of three juveniles earlier this week from the Franklin County facility.
