MT. VERNON — The YouthBuild program is accepting applications for its next program starting in September. The program is for those between the ages of 17 and 24 in need of their high school equivalency diploma.

Cheryl Young is the manager of the YouthBuild Program put on through Spero Family Services. She says in addition to their GED, those in the program learn life skills and can get other work certifications.

Young says they try to also help others in the community through the program.

The program is free to anyone that wants to participate. For more information, call 242-6723 ext. 234 in Jefferson County, and 533-5288 in Marion County. The deadline to register is August 13th.
