CENTRALIA —Centralia police are investigating a shooting Wednesday in the 900 block of East Noleman that sent a 21-year-old man to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

A report of a male subject having been shot was called in around 3 p.m. Wednesday, which sent all available police officers to the scene.

Fire and EMS were directed to stage down the street while police secured the scene. Suspects were no longer on the scene when officers arrived.

According to police, the victim and a friend had just gone inside the home when at least six shots were fired at the residence.

One round apparently went through a wall and struck the victim in the right thigh.

The victim was transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital within minutes of the call, with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Police continue to investigate, but say the victim and his friend were not cooperative.
