MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $100,000 for a 20-year-old Salem man accused of a Monday night burglary in Salem.

Jacob Branton was formally charged Tuesday in Marion County Court with burglary to a vehicle parked in the 500 block of West Park.

Branton was also charged with possession of 19 Tramadol pills that were reportedly discovered while Branton was being booked in to the jail.

Police stopped Branton driving in the 100 block of West Warmouth Street and he reportedly admitted to the burglary.

The investigation is ongoing, as police are not yet sure how many vehicles Branton may have entered.
