A 20-year-old Centralia man remains in the Marion County Jail following his late Saturday night arrest for allegedly firing a gun into the air.

According to Centralia police, Trentyn Gibson was attempting to get into his father’s home in the 700 block of North Hickory Street when he allegedly fired a gun into the air from the porch.

He reportedly fled the area in a pickup truck and police were called when the truck passed by the home about 40 minutes later.

Officers quickly located Gibson and after stopping the truck they reportedly discovered a stolen firearm inside. They took him in to custody on charges of possessing a firearm without a valid FOID, possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and possession of a stolen firearm.
