CENTRAL CITY — The Knapp Oil Co. and the Central City Citgo gas station recently completed their “Fill Up & Help the School Spirit Pump” fundraising efforts for Central City School.

Knapp Oil along with the Central City Citgo station donated 5 cents for every gallon of gas that was purchased from the “Spirit Pump” at the Central City Citgo Gas Station from May 5th through July 7th.

The “Spirit Pump” program raised a total of $3,000 for Central City School.

The money will be used to purchase reading incentives for the Accelerated Reader store and to assist with student STAR Parties which serve as good behavior incentives for all students in Kdgt. through 8th grades.

Superintendent Tim Branon said Central City School would like to thank Chuck and Nick Knapp and Rick Forth with the Knapp Oil Company and we would like to especially thank Tammy Kime with the Central City Citgo gas station for this truly generous fundraising donation to our school.

Branon notes that Central City School is extremely fortunate to have the kind of community support that the school enjoys each and every year from its citizens, its village government, its police department, its local businesses and its churches.

He says the school greatly benefits from the support of the community and wants to keep these partnerships going for the sake of the kids.

The community support for their fundraising efforts, specifically for the “Spirit Pump”, was absolutely tremendous and they were simply amazed with the overwhelming response.
