MARION COUNTY — A 21-year-old Centralia man was sentenced Tuesday in Marion County court to 3-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he entered a plea agreement on felony burglary and drug charges.

Alvaro Martinez pleaded guilty to violating the terms of his probation on a Class 2 felony burglary conviction for taking items from the maintenance closet at the Home Motel on West Noleman Street in Centralia.

Martinez pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced in 2017 to 4-years probation.  Then last month he was arrested for possession of less than 5-grams of methamphetamine, which violated his probation.

He pleaded guilty to the Class 3 felony meth charge, as well, Tuesday, and was sentenced to 2-years in prison to be served concurrently with the 3-year sentence.
