MT. VERNON — Some Mt. Vernon residents have been waiting a while to see the railroad crossing on 7th Street reopened. It appears they will get to see the reopening by the end of this month.
Mt. Vernon City Manager Mary Ellen Bechtel says if everything goes according to plan, the 7th Street railroad crossing should reopen by the end of August.
The crossing was closed about four years ago.
