JACKSON COUNTY — A man recently convicted of murdering SIU student Pravin Varughese in 2014 now has new lawyers who want to delay the man’s sentecing while they review their client’s case.

A Jackson County judge late last week granted a second request for Gaege’s Bethune’s attorney to withdraw from the case. That’s according to WSIL-TV.

One of the two attorney’s representing Bethune is Steven Greenberg. Greenburg once represented Drew Peterson in the murder of his wife.

Bethune’s first request for a laywer change was recently denied by the judge saying sentencing would still take place Wednesday.

All parties in this case are scheduled to have a conference call today to see if Bethune’s sentencing will be delayed.
