JEFFERSON COUNTY — Three people were injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 64 in Jefferson County.

According to Illinois State Police, 62-year-old Rita Humphrey, of Paducah, Ky. was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-64.

Humphrey continued until she hit a vehicle driven by 81-year-old Warren Wildman, of Shoals, Ind. hitting the driver’s front corner of the vehicle. Humphrey’s vehicle came to rest on the inside guardrail and Wildman hit the outside guardrail, coming to a rest in the right lane.

Humphrey, Wildman and Wildman’s passenger 76-year-old Leslie Wildman of Shoals, Ind., were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. All three had non-life-threatening injuries.

Humphrey was cited for Driving the Wrong Way on a Controlled Highway.
