JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County property owners can start expecting to receive their property tax bills arriving in the mail in the next few days. The first property tax installment is due to the county treasurer’s office by September 20, while the second installment is due November 20.

Payments can be mailed or paid in person. Most local banks will accept payments at the counter inside if you have your tax bill with you. You can also pay online by visiting JeffersonCountyIllinois.com, or by escrow account.

It is the property owner’s responsibility to pay taxes on time, even if a bill has not been received. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the treasurer’s office.
