BENTON — A 52-year-old former Centralia man has been sentenced to nine years in fedreal prison after he previously pleaded guilty to a three count indictment charging him with distributing methamphetamine in Clay County.

Bobby J. Bryan was recently sentenced to 108 months for distributing and conspiring to distribute methamphetamine,

Steven D. Weinhoeft, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced Wednesday that Bryan had previously pleaded guilty to a three-count federal indictment charging him with knowingly distributing methamphetamine in Clay County on two occasions in July 2017, and with conspiring to distribute fifty (50) grams or more of methamphetamine beginning as early as 2015.

The investigation in the case was conducted by the Flora Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, and the Illinois State Police Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force.
