MT. VERNON — On Monday, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to WMIX News:

31-year-old James Short of Mt. Vernon was arrested Friday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property, domestic battery, interfering with the report of domestic battery, and resisting a peace officer.

44-year-old Ryan Wilson of Dix was arrested Friday on two bond forfeiture warrants.

26-year-old Daniel Kniffen of Ina was arrested by Mt. Vernon Police Friday for driving on a suspended license.

40-year-old Quincy Moss of Evansville, IN was arrested by Illinois State Police Saturday for driving on a suspended license.

34-year-old LaQuita Hughes of Mt. Vernon was arrested Saturday for driving with no license.

26-year-old Equiton Wilks of Mt. Vernon was arrested by Mt. Vernon Police Saturday for domestic battery.

55-year-old Nathaniel Nesbitt of Mt. Vernon was arrested by Mt. Vernon Police Sunday for criminal trespassing to state land.

39-year-old Matthew Kaufman of Charleston, IL was arrested by Mt. Vernon Police Sunday for possession of meth less than five grams and on a bond forfeiture warrant.

23-year-old Zachary Higgins of East Alton, IL was arrested Sunday for fleeing a police officer, leaving the scene, meth manufacturing between 100 and 400 grams, obstructing justice, and resisting a peace officer.

44-year-old Kristen Carpenter-Sharp of Mt. Vernon was arrested by Mt. Vernon Police Monday for DUI-alcohol and leaving the scene.

 

EDIT: We had reported 26-year-old Dylan Higgins of Kell was arrested Sunday for fleeing a police officer, meth manufacturing between 100 and 400 grams, and resisting a peace officer. This was an error on the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrest reports. D. Higgins was not arrested.
