WEST FRANKFORT — The Crosswalk Community Action Agency in West Frankfort will be administering the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, for Franklin, Jefferson and Williamson counties starting Monday.

LIHEAP provides financial assistance to eligible households to help pay a portion of their winter heating bills.

Appointments will start being distributed on Monday at 7:30 a.m. If it is not possible to be at the outreach site then, there will still be appointments available. Those eligible can still go to the location in their county and receive an appointment.

Due to limited parking and the high volume of traffic Crosswalk will have Monday, Franklin County residents can get an appointment for energy assistance at the West Frankfort City Park from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. After 10 a.m., Franklin County residents will need to go Crosswalk’s main office on West Main in West Frankfort to receive an appointment. Monday is just the first day to get an appointment, not the only day according to officials.
