ILLINOIS (RFD) — A new unclaimed property program is underway at the Treasurer’s office. Money Match has been created to take away much of the work that individuals needed to put in to get forgotten or lost money owed to them. Simply put the state is going to mail you a check. Treasurer Mike Frerichs says that there are a few guidelines to begin, one being the cash amount needs to be less than $2,000. Secondly if you’re going to be getting a check the state will soon let you know.
In all $12 million will be going out in the first round of Money Match.
