Expired: Run For The Wall coming through Mt.Vernon

The Run for the Wall is an annual motorcycle ride that promotes healing among veterans, calls for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action (POW/MIA), honors the memory of those Killed in Action (KIA), and supports our military personnel all over the world. Riders start in California and ride accross the United States to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. Mt. Vernon is their ONLY stop in Illinois Over 500 riders will stop in Mt. Vernon at 12:30 p.m. to refuel at Hucks on 34th and Broadway, stage, and proceed to the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport for a donated luncheon and program. The public is encouraged to line the streets of Broadway during this time and bring flags or other signs of support to show appreciation as they ride by. The public is also invited to the airport to support riders and attend the event. A VIP Veteran’s Tent will be set up welcoming all local Veteran’s to gather.
