(SALEM, IL) — Marion County Sheriff Rich Stevenson is warning people who have been removing political yard signs that don’t belong to them that they can and will be arrested. Stevenson says it has come to his attention that political signs are being removed from areas within the county. He reminds people that it is a crime to remove any political sign and to enter property to do so. He commented that the signs are in areas within the county that have been given permission to be there. Anyone caught removing signs not on their own property he says, can and will be arrested. Stevenson adds that if signs are being placed on your property without your permission to please contact your local law enforcement agency before removing the signs.
