(VANDALIA, IL) — A man accused of the 2016 robbery of the Farina branch of Midland States Bank is believed to be in custody in Indiana. Fayette County State’s Attorney Joshua Morrison said he was alerted last month that an individual who might have been involved in the Farina robbery was in custody. Morrison says it was the belief of the investigators that the man in custody in Indiana was involved in the robbery. The name of the individual has not yet been released. The robber was described as a white male in his 40s. He reportedly entered Midland States Bank in Farina on October 7, and demanded money. The suspect was said to be armed at the time and fled the scene on foot. There is no timetable yet for the individual to be brought back to Fayette County. Few details have been released on how the suspect was taken into custody, but Morrison says he could be tried for crimes in both Illinois and Indiana.
