(CENTRALIA, IL) — A 41-year-old Centralia man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly being an armed habitual criminal. Centralia police arrested Fernando Calcutt Saturday afternoon when a search warrant for his home and vehicle reportedly revealed a loaded handgun inside his truck. He was also charged with having no fire owners ID card. Calcutt reportedly told police someone must have planted the gun in his truck. Centralia police reportedly secured the search warrant after an earlier traffic stop revealed 38-year-old Richard Hammond, of Centralia, was in possession of heroin that allegedly came from Calcutt. Hammond was taken to the Marion County Jail on a drug charge and the driver, 37-year-old Timothy Craig, of McLeansboro, was also arrested after it was found he had an outstanding Marion County warrant for his arrest.
