(MCLEANSBORO, IL) — There was a four-vehicle, chain reaction crash Monday afternoon on Illinois 142 and Blooming Grove Road near McLeansboro. According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened as one vehicle rear ended another vehicle causing the crash as the lead units were slow or stopped in the roadway. The driver of the first vehicle, 27-year-old Holden Jackson of McLeansboro, was taken by Harre Ambulance to Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The McLeansboro Fire Department extricated the driver of the second vehicle, 36-year-old Steven and his passenger, 24-year-old Cody Robertson, both of McLeansboro. Graves was taken by ambulance to Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro while Robertson was flown by Air Evac to Deaconess Hospital. Another passenger in Graves’ vehicle, 23-year-old Tyler Biggerstaff of McLeansboro, refused treatment at the scene. The driver of the third vehicle, 35-year-old Kelly Richardson of Macomb, Illinois along with her passengers, 59-year-old Julie Hartley of Williard, Missouri and a 5-year-old child, were taken by the McLeansboro Fire Department to Hamilton Memorial Hospital. The driver of the fourth vehicle, 35-year-old Melissa Kaufman of McLeansboro and two other minor passengers were taken by personal vehicle to Hamilton Memorial Hospital. No further information regarding medical conditions are available through the sheriff’s office.
