MT. VERNON — Two Mt. Vernon men are in the Jefferson County Jail following their arrests by Mt. Vernon Police Department Narcotics Unit as part of on-going investigations involving narcotic sales in the Mt Vernon area
According to reports, 32-year-old Zackery Baker and 38-year-old Matthew Howard were arrested during a traffic stop Friday in the 200 block of Main after detectives allegedly located Ice Methamphetamine packaged for delivery and Drug Equipment in the vehicle.

Baker was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance (meth) with intent to deliver and his bail was set at $45,000. He was additionally arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a Jefferson County case for delivery of a controlled substance. Bail on the warrant was $15,000.
Howard was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment. His bail was set at $30,000.
