MT. VERNON — The City of Mt. Vernon Public Works Department has announced that they will be replacing a water valve at the intersection of 12th and Jordan Streets on Thursday, Sept. 21.

There will be lane closures in this area and officials encourage using alternate routes to get to your destination.

The areas affected will be the west bound lane of Jordan from 11th to 12th Streets and the northbound lane of 12th from Casey Avenue to Broadway. This section of Jordan Street will be without water from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday with a boil order to follow. This work is weather permitting.
