An Anna man was found guilty Wednesday after a three day jury trial in Union County on three counts of obstructing a peace officer, one count of escape and one count of aggravated assault – all Class A misdemeanors.
Union County State’s Attorney Tyler Edmonds says 48-year-old Roderick Lynn Hileman threatened an Anna police officer in the parking lot of an Anna business in the early morning hours of July 20, 2015.
Hileman then pulled away from police as he was being arrested and fled on foot. He was arrested following a brief foot pursuit.
A sentencing hearing for Hileman has been set for Nov. 30 at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro.
The Class A misdemeanors carry a maximum penalty of one year in jail.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Daniel Klingemann and Assistant State’s Attorney Katherine Bray.
