Franklin County officials will facilitate an interactive community discussion concerning active shooter situations in faith based facilities as well as assess the need for additional training and emergency planning assistance to local churches and faith based organizations.
This will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Franklin County Government Annex building on the south side of the Benton Square across from the courthouse.
Facilitating the discussion will be Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones, Firearms Instructor and Retired ISP Master Sgt. Ray Minor, Franklin County Board Administrative Assistant Gayla Sink and Franklin County Emergency Management Director Ryan Buckingham.
Representatives from churches and faith based organizations are urged to attend.
