Mt. Vernon police are investigating an armed robbery of the King City Liquor Store on 12th Street in Mt . Vernon.

Police received a silent alarm call from the business just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing blue jeans and a light grey hooded sweatshirt/jacket.

He reportedly indicated he had a weapon but one was not displayed.

He allegedly threatened the employee to open the register and give him all the money.

The suspect was last seen running northbound toward the appellate courthouse.
