JACKSON COUNTY — A Missouri man was injured in a one-vehicle crash just before 4:30 Friday morning in Jackson County.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Daniel Parks was driving his pickup truck eastbound on Truax Traer Road near Carter Road in rural Elkville when his truck left the south side of the roadway, struck a utility pole shearing it in two and overturning several times before coming to rest in an upright position.

Parks was treated at the scene by the Jackson County Ambulance Service. He was later transferred to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The truck suffered significant damage and was towed from the scene.

Parks was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
