A 14-year-old Franklin Park student was arrested Wednesday after making alleged verbal threats against five other students.

According to Salem Police Chief Sean Reynolds, the male student allegedly made the threats to another student regarding a list of five.

That student reported the threat to school administrators who immediately contacted Salem police.

The parent of the student who allegedly made the threat were contacted and the student’s home and locker were searched. No list or weapons were found. It’s unclear if weapons were mentioned in the threat.

Classes continued as normal Wednesday, but a robocall was made to all parents explaining the situation.

The 14-year-old was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct, but Marion County State’s Attorney Bill Milner will ultimately decide what, if any, charges will be filed. Reynolds did not say if the juvenile remains in custody.
