A 39-year-old Centralia man was arrested on weapons charges Saturday night after an Illinois State Trooper found him lying in the middle of a Centralia street.
According to reports, Richard May was found in the middle of East Broadway. When the state trooper managed to get May off the ground, a firearm was reportedly found beneath him. The gun was later found to have allegedly been stolen from Salem.
May was taken into custody on charges of illegal possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a firearm with no valid FOID card, as well as being a pedestrian under the influence and improper walking on the roadway.
He was transported to the Marion County Jail to await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
