Centralia police have arrested a 15-year-old juvenile male in connection with multiple shots fired last weekend on Hausler Street.
According to Centralia Police Chief Brian Atchison, around 3 p.m. Friday, an officer spotted the Centralia juvenile suspect in the 300 block of North Maple.
Atchison says the suspect took officers on a foot chase, but he was apprehended a few blocks away on Howard Street.
He was taken into custody for alleged aggravated discharge of a firearm.
Juvenile probation was contacted and approved having the suspect transported to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center to await his first appearance in Marion County court.
Police earlier reported responding on multiple days last week to shots fired calls in the 800 block of Hausler.
The juvenile suspect is reportedly connected to a June 16 call where officers located a bullet casing and a house and car tire had been struck.
A vehicle reportedly seen in the area at the time the shots were reported was later found parked. It was reportedly stolen from Carbondale.
According to Atchison, two others were reportedly with the juvenile at the time of the alleged shots being fired, however, there isn’t enough evidence at this time to link them to the incident.
All three incidents are believed to be related and the investigation continues.
