UNION COUNTY — IDOT will be closing Illinois Route 146 underneath the bridges of I-57 next week. The closure in Union County is expected to last from Wednesday morning to Friday morning, weather permitting.

The on and off ramps to I-57 will remain open during the closure. The closure is needed to place the beams on the northbound structure.

Eastbound Illinois 146 traffic will be directed onto I-57 and use exit 24 at Dongola to change directions on the interstate and then exit back onto 146. Westbound will be directed onto I-57 and change directions on the interstate at exit 36 at Lick Creek.

IDOT asks that all motors allow extra time in their travel and seek an alternate route in the construction area.
