The Du Quoin State Fair continues today and this year, the twilight parade will be held at 6, and entirely inside the fairgrounds. There’s also a new ride, the double ferris wheel, says assistant fair manager Tibretta Reiman.

The fair sits on 1200 acres, with many campers on the grounds. Reiman says it’s a little more relaxed atmosphere than the state fair in Springfield.

The fairgrounds will be open from 2 p.m. to Midnight. The carnival will be open from 4 to 10 p.m.

The ribbon cutting ceremony to open the fair begins at 5:30.

Gov. Bruce Rauner will attend both the ribbon cutting and parade at the fair this year.
