FAYETTE COUNTY — Authorities in Fayette County are investigating pedestrian/vehicle crash early Friday morning that claimed the life of a Utah man walking on U.S. 40.
According to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, 39-year-old Paul Medina was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking on Route 40, just west of Vandalia.
Fayette County Coroner David Harris’s office says the man was walking east in the east bound lane when he was struck by a vehicle.
The incident resulted in U.S. 40 being closed in both directions for several hours Friday morning.
