CARMI, IL — A Carmi man wanted on a warrant for criminal damage to property over $500 was taken into custody after Carmi Police received a tip Friday that the man was at Stewart Street Apartments.

Police say 19-year-old Leif E. Harper was seen walking down the stairs in apartment building number two and officers placed him under arrest on the warrant at 2:15 p.m.

Harper was taken to the White County Jail where he bonded out to $1,500 plus a $20 booking fee later that afternoon.
