MT. VERNON — WMIX/WDML brings you part 9 of a two-week series on the contested races for the school boards of Mt. Vernon City Schools District 80, Mt. Vernon Township High School District 201, and the Mt. Vernon City Council.
Today we have one of the candidates running for the Mt. Vernon City Council, Raymond Botch who says he has a list of goals for the city from now until the end of 2029.
A hot-button issue in Mt. Vernon is the East side railroad crossing. Botch says he believes the best plan of action starts with an idea a current councilman passed along to the Mt. Vernon airport.
The other candidates running for Mt. Vernon City Council are Donte Moore and Mike McDonough.
