MT. VERNON — The University of Illinois Extension Office is once again partnering with the Mt. Vernon Community Garden to have garden beds at Veterans Memorial Park. Chris Lueking with the Extension Office says the first work day for the upcoming season is coming up quickly.
The first work day will be Saturday at 9 a.m. Lueking says there are many types of plants that will be grown at the garden each year.
Lueking says everyone is welcome to volunteer, and you can come at different times. You can call 242-0780 for more information on when and how you can volunteer at the gardens.
