MCLEANSBORO — The McLeansboro City Council Thursday agreed to continue negotiations with the Hamilton County Board for central dispatch services.
City Clerk Fred Vallowe says action was also taken on appointing a committee consisting of Treasurer Sharon Ingram, Alderman Don Cox, Police Chief David Filkins and Mayor Dick Deitz to determine the specific job duties, requirements and total cost of establishing a cost and duties of establishing a central dispatch.
Following a period of closed session, the council agreed to renew the lake lease on the property previously owned by the late Richard and Margarette Rubenacker, now owned by Randy and Terry Rubenacker, located at 7722 State Route 14 for 25 years at a cost of $85 a year, for 25 years, with the option for renewal for another 25 years. It was noted that, as this is the renewal of an existing lease, annexation would not be required. The original lease was for $1 for 25 years.
