CENTRALIA — Centralia Fire Protection District, Centralia police, Marion County Sheriff’s deputies, and Life Star Ambulance personnel responded to a reported rollover crash just after 1:30 a.m. Monday morning at the intersection of Walnut Hill Road and Perrine Street southeast of Centralia near Rotary Park.
Reportedly, a 41-year-old female driver was traveling east on Walnut Hill Road when she apparently missed the curve, went across the road to the north side, traveled through the ditch and then hit Perrine Street where the car rolled several times before coming to rest in the deep ditch on the northeast corner of the intersection.
Fire responders had to free the woman from her vehicle that had landed in an inch or more of standing water.
She was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of apparently minor injuries. Firefighters say if she had not been wearing her seat belt, her injuries would no doubt have been very severe.
