CLINTON COUNTY — A member of the Clinton County board has been charged with felony official misconduct after he allegedly placed a tracking device on a highway department employee’s county vehicle.
Keith Nordike, 52, of Aviston, was charged with the Class 3 felony, and misdemeanor unlawful use of an electronic tracking device. He’s scheduled for a June 18 first appearance with his private attorney.
According to charging documents, Nordike placed a tracking device on the county vehicle assigned to county highway department employee Ron Becker.
Nordike has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Reports indicate the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Nordike in December. Special prosecutor David Rands filed the charges against him in April.
Rands was assigned the case because Clinton County State’s Attorney John Hudspeth has recused himself, and Clinton County Circuit Judge Stan Brandmeyer also recused himself from the case.
Nordike still sits on the county board. He represents District 4, which includes Aviston and Trenton
