MT. VERNON — The Law Enforcement Torch Run made its way through Mt. Vernon Monday afternoon. Law enforcement personnel throughout Jefferson County carried the torch from the Franklin County line to the Marion County line on Route 37.
Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard took the torch at the stop at Borowiak’s IGA in Mt. Vernon. He says he’s happy that he and the sheriff’s office can take part in such a worthwhile cause.
The torch run started Monday morning in Marion and will conclude later this week at the Special Olympics of Illinois State Games in Bloomington / Normal at the end of the week.
