MT. VERNON — The city of Mt. Vernon will be hosting its second annual home electronics recycling event soon. City residents can bring items free of charge to properly recycle their unwanted electronics.

Assistant City Manager Nathan McKenna says anyone is welcome to drop off their electronics at the event, but for those outside the city with larger electronics, there will be a small fee.

There is a limit of 2 TVs and/or monitors per household, but there is no limit on the small devices you can bring to recycle. City officials ask that you bring your most current water bill to prove residency.

The electronics recycling event will be Saturday, June 22nd from 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Building at 1201 Casey Avenue in Mt. Vernon. If you have any other questions, you can call city hall at 242-6802.
