MT. VERNON — The Mt. Vernon City Council approved the lowest bids for both the Davidson Avenue and Potomac Road patching projects along with for street repair materials for in-house city street repairs at Monday night’s council meeting.
The council approved the lowest bid submitted by Rollie Excavating out of Woodlawn for the Davidson and Potomac patching projects for a price of just under $103,000. For the street repair materials, the city accept a combination of bids from Jax Asphalt and Marathon Petroleum for just shy of $275,000.
The city also approved year-end budget adjustments required by state law and a resolution to temporarily close Illinois Route 15 from Marlow Road to the junction of the old Route 15 and current Route 15 for the “Salute to Freedom” July 4th fireworks.
The next scheduled city council meeting will be July 1st at 7 p.m. at the Rolland Lewis Community Building at Veteran’s Park in Mt. Vernon.
