VANDALIA — The Fayette County Coroner and Vandalia police are investigating the early Sunday morning death of a 36-year-old Vandalia woman.

According to the coroner’s office, Nikki L. Handegan, was discovered early Sunday morning by a co-worker at their place of employment.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in Effingham.

No other information has been released at this time but the case remains under investigation.
